Bhubaneswar: In an unfortunate incident, a girl student of the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) situated in the Khordha district of Odisha has allegedly jumped from the college roof on Monday and lost her life.
The deceased student has been identified as Pooja Jethwani of Chhattisgarh. She was a fifth-year Ph.D student of Physics Department in NISER.
Reportedly, it has been alleged that Pooja had been suffering from depression for a long time and had been going through treatment for the same.
On getting the information, Khordha police arrived at the spot and initiated a probe into the death case. The cops have seized a diary from her possession. It is being suspected that she has committed suicide.
The actual cause behind the alleged suicide is yet to be ascertained.
