Minor girl sexually abused by father in Puri of Odisha, kills self due to shame

Gop: In a shocking and shameful incident, a girl has been sexually abused by her father in Puri district of Odisha, said reports on Monday. The girl later killed herself as she felt ashamed.

The shameful incident of a minor girl being sexually abused by her father has come to light from Matiyapada village in Shimili Panchayat under Konark police station limits. Reports say that, Banita Mohanty, the minor girl’s mother has filed the complaint with the police station.

For the past few days Malla Ranjan was misbehaving with his own elder daughter who was a minor. The minor girl studying in ninth standard then complained about the entire incident to her mother, but she hid the incident as she feared that her husband would rebuke her.

The father raped the girl yesterday in the morning while she was sleeping in the bedroom of their own house. Unable to bear the shame and frustration, the girl committed suicide. Later, the mother took the girl immediately to the hospital. But the doctor declared the minor girl brought dead and informed the Gop police station in this regard.

On the other hand, after receiving a written complaint in this regard in the Konark police station, the Konark police seized the body of the minor girl. They sent the body for medical examination and postmortem. Konark police informed that the father was missing and is yet to be traced. Further detailed reports regarding the incident shall be known after the postmortem report is obtained.
