Bhubaneswar: Ex-Secretary of Odisha Works Department Nalinikanta Pradhan joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in the presence of party supremo Naveen Patnaik at the latter’s residence here today.
While it was being widely speculated that Pradhan will be filed from Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency by BJD in the upcoming general election in the state, his formal induction into the conch party fold has substantiated it.
Expressing his happiness over the joining of the former works department official, CM Naveen Patnaik said the move will further strengthen BJD.
On March 1 this year, Pradhan had tendered his resignation citing personal reasons, one month before completion of his one-year extension tenure.
