Devotee from Gujarat donates gold chains of 1.75 kg to Puri Jagannath Temple

A devotee from Gujarat reportedly donated two gold chains weighing about 1.75 kg at Puri Jagannath Temple on Tuesday.

Puri: A devotee from Gujarat reportedly donated two gold chains weighing about 1.75 kg at Puri Jagannath Temple on Tuesday. Chirag Chinuvai Patel of Ahmedabad of Gujarat handed over the gold armament worth around Rs 75 lakh to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration.

Along with this, Patel also reportedly donated three silver crowns worth one lakh rupees to Lord Narayan and Sakhigopal. Accompanied by his family members, the devotee came in a huge procession on the Grand Road and donated the ornaments after reaching the 12th century shrine.

The ornaments are made of 24 carat gold by a goldsmith of Gujarat. Patel’s donation would definitely be an example for others to make donations to Lord Jagannath and his siblings, said a sevayat (servitor).
