Villagers thrash teacher who had fled with his student in Ganjam district

In an appalling incident, a school teacher was thrashed black and blue by some locals for allegedly eloping with his minor girl student in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

Berhampur: In an appalling incident, a school teacher was thrashed black and blue by some locals for allegedly eloping with his minor girl student in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

One Nilambar Das, who is a teacher of a school at B. Brahmapur village under Sheragada police station limits of the district, had reportedly run away with a class 10th student of the school.

However, after the student returned to her home, Das went to the school for teaching. However, the angry locals, who were aware of the incident, caught hold of him, tied him to a bamboo and thrashed him.

After the video of the incident became viral, Sheragada Police reached the village and rescued the teacher. Police also initiated an investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, this incident has now become a topic of discussion in the entire locality.
