Cold wave in Odisha: Phulbani records lowest minimum temperature at 8 degree Celsius

Forecasts from the Regional Meteorological department predict that the cold wave in Odisha is likely to continue till December 20.

Bhubaneswar: Cold wave continues to grip major parts of Odisha. Bone-chilling cold is being experienced in several areas across the state. The nighttime temperature is continuously decreasing at all places. In the last 24 hours, 11 cities recorded temperature below 10 degree Celsius.

Phulbani freezed at eight degree Celsius, becoming the coldest city of Odisha in the last 24 hours. The minimum temperature in several cities of Odisha were recorded as follows: 8.2 degree Celsius in Korei of Jajpur, 8.6 degree Celsius in G Udayagiri, 8.8 degree Celsius in Rourkela, and 9.8 degree Celsius in Jharsuguda.

Daily life in Mayurbhanj has been disrupted due to the cold wave in Odisha. Thin sleet of snow has been seen in Similipal.

Forecasts from the Regional Meteorological department predict that the cold wave in Odisha is likely to continue till December 20. Slight rainfall in likely to be experienced in the Northern and Western parts of Odisha on December 23 and 24. These changes in the weather will come under the influence of dry winds from Western side.
