Bhubaneswar airport to expand air connectivity to 4 more Indian cities by New Year 2024

The capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, is set to enhance its air connectivity with four additional Indian cities by New Year 2024.

Bhubaneswar: The capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, is set to enhance its air connectivity with four additional Indian cities in the near future, as announced by the Director of Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), Prasanna Pradhan.

The upcoming flight services from Bhubaneswar’s BPIA will provide travelers with convenient access to Surat, Dehradun, Chandigarh, and Jammu, contributing to the city’s growing importance as a regional transportation hub. Pradhan confirmed that the groundwork for these services has already been set in motion.

Exciting news for travelers and residents is that the new terminal link building at BPIA is expected to be fully operational by the commencement of the New Year in 2024. To ensure a seamless and secure transition, the airport authorities have initiated the process of obtaining security clearances for the new facility.

Additionally, Pradhan stated that they will engage in discussions with relevant stakeholders, including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Customs department, to devise and implement a robust standard operating procedure (SOP) for the new terminal.
