Armed Maoists Attack Forest Range Office, Loot Guns
Nayagarh: Armed Maoists attacked the office of Banigoccha (East) Forest Range at Kuanria in Nayagarh district last night.
According to reports, 7 armed Maoists barged into the office at around 9.10 pm last night. They vandalised the office before looting four country-made guns.
An official who was present at the spot said the red rebels threatened to kill the foresters if the latter dared to raise an alarm. They later placed posters on the office walls and fled the spot.
No casualty was reported in the incident.
Noteworthy, this incident comes after Maoists had killed a polling supervisor at Bandapada in Kandhamal district on April 17. Earlier, the red rebels had also set afire a polling vehicle at Phiringia in the district.
