Cuttack: Kandhamal MP and KIIT-KISS founder Achyuta Samanta has been conferred with the Odia Asmita Samman 2023 during a special function held at Sarala Bhawan here today.
Samanta was conferred with the award by the Odia Asmita Sammilani (Odia Pride Conclave) in the presence of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Mayor Subhash Chandra Singh, Barabati-Cuttack MLA Mohammed Moquim, officials of the organization and other politicians and intellectuals.
Achyuta Samanta also expressed his gratitude for having received the award. “I am very happy to have received this award on the last day of the year 2023. I continue to work as inspired by Madhubabu’s ideals. Madhu Babu was working for the progress of Odisha, KIIT-KISS is also working in that direction,” he said adding that if 30,000 tribal children were deprived of education, Maoist problem would have increased in the State today.
The Odia Pride Conclave (Odia Asmita Sammilani) was organised by involving diaspora leaders and common people in Cuttack City on December 30-31, 2023 to commemorate the 120th anniversary of historic Utkal Sammilani of Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das.
