1 killed, 3 critical in group clash over cutting of tree in Odisha’s Jajpur

In a tragic incident that unfolded in Odisha's Jajpur, a violent group clash claimed the life of one person, while 3 others remained critical.

Jajpur: In a tragic incident that unfolded in Odisha’s Jajpur district, a violent group clash claimed the life of one person. Three others were reported critical, said reliable reports in this regard.

The group clash took place in Aruala village in Jajpur, under the limits of Ramchandrapur police station. The deceased has been identified as Subhash Jena.

Reportedly, the issue began over the cutting of a tree in the adjoining area near the land owned by the deceased. After initial disagreement by the two groups, the matter was taken to the administration. After which, the wood of the tree was seized by the authorities.

Subsequently, the wood was handed to one of the injured, Bikas, and his accomplices on Monday. The clash erupted when Bikas and his accomplices were bringing the wood back.

The critically injured people in the accident were rushed to Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for immediate medical assistance.

The local police have initiated a probe into the matter and are currently looking into it. Further details are awaited.
