Yoga has become a global spirit, says PM Modi on international yoga day

PM Modi on June 21 virtually connected to the citizens of India and informed of the Yoga event that he will be participating in at around 5:30 pm IST.

New Delhi: With International Yoga Day falling amid Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Official State visit to the United States of America.

PM Modi on June 21, 2023 virtually connected to the citizens of India and informed about the Yoga event that he will be participating in at around 5:30 pm Indian Standard Time (IST).

The event will be organized at the Headquarters of the United Nations (UN).

“It is good to do Yoga with you all. But this time, I am virtually connecting with you due to being in the US, the Prime Minister said.

PM Modi further added that, “I am not running away from this event. I will participate in a Yoga event at the UN headquarters at 5:30 pm IST.” “This will be historic,” he added.

“Many countries supported the proposal for Yoga Day, which was kept forward in the UNGA. Yoga has become a global spirit,” the Prime Minister added.

“The Ocean Ring of Yoga has made this more special. Our saints have defined Yoga as something which connects. That is the reason behind the theme of India’s G20 Presidency theme,” Modi said.
