36 dead, 19 injured as bus plunged into deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda
At least 36 people were killed and 19 injured on Wednesday after a passenger bus they were travelling in plunged into a deep gorge in J&K’s Doda district
Jammu: At least 36 people were killed and 19 injured on Wednesday after a passenger bus they were travelling in plunged into a deep gorge in J&K’s Doda district.
Officials said that the bus went out of the driver’s control at Asser in Doda district and fell into a deep gorge.
Relief and rescue operation has been started. Injured have been admitted to Assar’s primary health care (PHC) centre.
Senior police officials are at the spot and investigating the cause of the accident. An official said that the rescue operation is still going on.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that he is “extremely pained by the loss of lives” and wished for a speedy recovery of injured.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased, and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
