Pune: Two injured after training aircraft crashes near Gojubavi village

A trainee pilot and an instructor injured after a training aircraft crashed near Gijubavi village in Pune on Sunday morning.

Maharashtra: A training aircraft operated by a private aviation academy crashed near a Gojubavi village in Pune district on a Sunday morning. In the crash, a trainee pilot and an instructor were on board, police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 8 a.m., with the aircraft in question belonging to the Redbird Flight Training Academy.

Both the trainee pilot and the instructor involved in the crash were promptly transferred to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, said Senior Inspector Prabhakar More of the Baramati police station.

“The cause of the crash is not yet known. We are conducting a probe into the incident,” he said.

Notably, this marks the second incident involving an aircraft from the private aviation academy in just four days.

Last Thursday, another training aircraft from the academy crashed near Kaftal village in Baramati taluka, resulting in injuries to a pilot.
