Free Education For Children Orphaned Due To Covid-19 In Madhya Pradesh

Indore:  In the wake of rising cases of Covid-19 in the state, and number of fatalities rising, there has been an increase number of children being orphaned. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday announced that children who lost their parents to Covid will be provided free education.

This decision has been taken in view of the rise in Covid-19 cases across Madhya Pradesh in the past couple of months. Apart from free education, these students will also be provided with a monthly pension of Rs 5000 for their books and free ration for these families, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said.

“Apart from taking responsibility for the education of students, the government will also help people who lost their jobs during the pandemic. They will be granting loans to families on government guarantees to people who want to work,” the chief minister added.

The state government has also postponed the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams due to steady increases in COVID-19 cases. The Classes 10 and 12 Madhya Pradesh Board exams were scheduled to be held from April 30 and May 1.
