24 injured after fire breaks out at chemical plant in Gujarat

At least 24 workers were injured after a massive fire broke out in Gujarat. The fire broke out at a chemical plant in Surat city of Gujarat.

Gandhinagar: In a recent incident, at least 24 workers were injured after a massive fire broke out in Gujarat. The fire broke out at a chemical plant in Surat city of Gujarat.

Reports from reliable sources state that the fire broke out following an explosion in a storage tanker of a chemical plant located in Gujarat’s Sachin GIDC industrial area at around 2 pm. Four of the injured workers were reported to be in critical condition.

An official present at the site reported that the injured workers were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for necessary treatment. He further informed that the blast caused fire in a three storey building of the factory and also engulfed the entire unit.

Over a dozen of fire fighting vehicles were rushed to the spot of the fire accident in Gujarat and contained the blaze after much efforts. The reason behind the blast is yet to be ascertained. No deaths were reported.
