Stock market update: Sensex down 150 points, Nifty opens lower

In the early trade, the BSE benchmark Sensex slipped 168.91 points to 65,507.02 while Nifty has declined 48.45 points to 19,627.

New Delhi: The Indian benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex opened the session lower on Thursday. In the early trade, the BSE benchmark Sensex slipped 168.91 points to 65,507.02 while Nifty has declined 48.45 points to 19,627.

But it surged soon after with Nifty 50 inching towards 19,700, while Sensex was near 65,800. Nifty Bank is also hovering around 44,250.

Bajaj Finance, TCS, Suzlon, Dabur, Bank of Baroda, IIFL Finance, are among the stocks in focus today. NTPC, ONGC, BPCL, Coal India and Hero MotoCorp were among the top gainers on Nifty 50. On the other hand, the top losers were Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Hindalco, Grasim and JSW Steel.

Sensex and Nifty, gained over 1 per cent with more than 600 points in yesterday’s trading session.
