Sensex drops over 100 points to open at 65,452, Nifty nears 19,380

Benchmark indices have opened nearly flat at the early trade on Wednesday. BSE Sensex was up 60 points to 65,542.

Mumbai: Benchmark indices have opened nearly flat at the early trade on Wednesday. BSE Sensex was up 60 points to 65,542, while the Nifty 50 index is down 20 points, at 19,406.

The Nifty Bank has opened lower by over 100 points at 45,505.

The top gainers in the early trade were FMCG index and PSU Bank index with up 0.5 percent each. Meanwhile, the IndusInd Bank is the top gainer on the Nifty 50, up 2.3 percent.

Realty index is the top sectoral loser, down 0.7 percent. HDFC twins are the top losers on the Nifty 50 index.

Meanwhile, the record-setting spree of the Indian market continued on Tuesday as the domestic equity indices the Sensex and the Nifty settled at their record closing highs for the fourth consecutive session. It was the fifth consecutive session of gains for Sensex whereas for Nifty it was the sixth consecutive session of gains.
