BSE, NSE to remain closed today for Dussehra
The Indian stock market BSE and NSE will remain closed today, October 24, 2023 on the occasion of Dussehra or Vijaydahsmi.
New Delhi: The Indian stock market BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 will remain closed today, October 24, 2023 on account of Dussehra or Vijaydahsmi. The equity segment, equity derivatives segment, and SLB segment will also not see any trading.
The currency derivatives market has been shut for trading today as well. Additionally, trading in the commodity derivatives segment and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) will also be closed today.
Today is Vijayadashami, which marks the end of the nine-day Navratri festival. Dussehra is celebrated across India as it is believed that on this day Lord Ram killed the evil king of Lanka Ravana.
On October 23, Nifty 50 lost 260.90 points to settle at 19,281.75, while the Sensex fell 825.74 points to close at 64,571.88.
