Stock market update: Sensex, Nifty open flat on Monday; ICICI Bank gains
BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 opened flat on Monday. ICICI Bank was the top gainer in the opening session, up around 1 per cent.
New Delhi: Domestic equities BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 opened flat on Monday. BSE benchmark Sensex was trading 29.12 points lower, or 0.04 per cent to open at 65,426.74, while broader NSE Nifty 50 was down 11.90 points, or 0.06 per cent to trade at 19,554.55.
ICICI Bank was up around 1 per cent in the opening session. The private sector lender’s Q2 net profit jumped 36 per cent year-on-year to Rs 10,261 crore on higher core income and lower provisions. Meanwhile, Kotak Mahindra Bank fell over 2 per cent in the morning trade.
Nifty Microcap 250 down 1.64 per cent, and the Nifty Smallcap 250 slipped 0.69 per cent, while the Nifty Midsmallcap 400 was at 0.57 per cent, and Nifty Midcap 100 and 150 at 0.51 per cent each.
The top gainers are Divis Lab, Bajaj Finance, M&M, ICICI Bank, Tata Consumers, Bajaj Finserv, PowerGrid, Dr Reddys, Hero MotoCorp, and Nestle India.
Kotak Bank, L&T, Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel, Grasim, TCS, LTI Mindtree, Bajaj Auto, Coal India, ONGC, Maruti Suzuki, BPCL, Titan and IndusInd Bank were the top losers.
