Tech giant Mahindra is all set to launch the Thar 5-door model in India this year. Ahead of which, numerous spottings of the model have been captured at several locations.
Due to which, we have been able to gather quite some information about the model. The SUV offers a C-shaped LED DRLs and not circular ones. The overall design of the SUV remains the same as the 3-door model.
However, the dimensions of the new 5-door Thar will be bigger than the 3-door model. A larger boot and a comfier second row are something that expected in the model. When it comes to the interior of the car, we get roof-mounted IRVM, floating infotainment system and much more.
As per the latest information that we have collected, there are a number of features sported on by the Mahindra Thar 5-door that will make you choose it over the Thar 3-door model. Read to know:
Sunroof
While it is not a full panoramic unit, the pictures that have surfaced do show a single pane sunroof in the model. This is something which is not available in the Thar 3-door model.
360-degree camera
Again, the Mahindra Thar 5-door make sports a 360 degree camera. This will prove to be of help to the drivers under multiple circumstances.
Dual Zone AC
The 5-door model of Thar will be available with a dual zone climate feature as seen in the premium SUVs of Mahindra like the XUV700 and Scorpio N. This differs from the 3-door model which has only one auto climate control.
Increased Airbags
While the current 3-door model comes with only two airbags on the front, the 5-door Mahindra Thar is likely to be equipped with a total of six airbags. This means that there will be enhanced safety features in the upcoming model.
Larger touchscreen unit
While the current 3-door version is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen system, the 5-door Thar model will be having a 10.25 inch touchscreen. Further, it will also have wired smartphone connectivity.
Rear Centre Armrest
The new Mahindra Thar will be equipped with a bench seat in the second row. It will also have the rear centre armrest as a minor but useful feature.
Electric Fuel lid opener
While the 3-door Mahindra Thar comes with a fuel lid that needs to be opened with a key, the upcoming model will be having certain changes. It will be sporting an electrically operated fuel lid opener with its button present on the control panel.
