Elon Musk, CEO of Telsa, showcases the prowess of the long-awaited Cybertruck in a head-to-head drag race against a Porsche 911, all while towing another Porsche 911. The video reveals the Cybertruck’s impressive acceleration and towing capacity, challenging expectations and highlighting its advanced electric power capabilities.

After four years since its global debut, Tesla’s Cybertruck has finally hit the roads in the United States, marked by a grand delivery event at the Gigafactory in Texas. Elon Musk, personally driving one of the delivered models, presented the Cybertruck’s performance, breaking with his initial pricing estimated from 2019.

Contrary to Musk’s earlier statements, the price of the electric pickup truck has seen a minimum increase of 50%. Approximately 2 million customers who booked the Cybertruck over the past four years now face a starting price of $61,000 (approximately Rs 50.82 lakh), with the cost potentially reaching $100,000 (around Rs 83.30 lakh). The initial estimated price was around $40,000 four years ago.

In a surprising move, Musk posted a video showcasing a drag race between the Tesla Cybertruck and a Porsche 911 on a designated drag strip. The Cybertruck, with its instant electric power, takes a commanding lead from the start, maintaining its advantage throughout the race. Notably, the Cybertruck is connected to a trailer hauling another Porsche 911, demonstrating impressive towing capacity of 4,990 kg.

The Tesla Cybertruck, according to Tesla, can complete a quarter-mile in under 11 seconds, showcasing its acceleration prowess. In comparison, the entry-level Porsche 911 Carrera has a quarter-mile time of 11.5 seconds. The Cybertruck boasts several notable features, including an ultra-hard stainless steel exoskeleton, shatter-resistant armor glass, a payload capacity of 1,134 kg, a claimed range of 547 km, an 18.5-inch touchscreen, an all-glass roof, and more.

Tesla now requires customers interested in booking a Cybertruck to pay $250 (approximately Rs 21,000), a significant increase from the initial $100 booking amount at the EV’s global debut. Elon Musk revealed that the company has received over 10 lakh pre-orders for the Cybertruck, which will compete with models such as the Ford F150 Lightning, Hummer EV, and Rivian R1T in the United States.

Tesla is delivering the all-wheel-drive and Cyberbeast versions of the Cybertruck initially, with the rear-wheel-drive model expected for delivery from next year. The Cybertruck offers three different ranges depending on the variant, ranging from 250 miles to 320 miles on a single charge.
