Hyundai Creta EV launch soon! Spotted charging in new spy images

South Korean carmaker Hyundai is expected to launch the electric version of the popular Hyundai Creta in the country soon. The Hyundai Creta EV was seen testing multiple times. Now, the upcoming Creta EV was spotted charging at a charging station in South Korea. However, the upcoming Creta Electric was camouflaged.

Though the design of the upcoming EV was not seen as it was camouflaged, the overall silhouette looks similar to the petrol and diesel version of the Creta. It seems the carmaker is planning to offer new aero-designed alloy wheels to the Creta Electric that will the EV a new look and will help to improve range.

Meanwhile, it will continue to feature the new LED DRL pattern like the Creta facelift, which was launched earlier this year in India. The other changes expected in the upcoming EV is a closed-off grille and a front bumper-mounted charging port. This will offer a new more electric look to the Creta EV from the regular Creta.

Hyundai did something similar with the recently launched Creta N Line, which received a new grille and bumpers to give the model a different look from the regular Creta.

The new Hyundai Creta EV will likely be equipped with a floor-mounted battery pack as it was seen with a lower ground clearance in the spy shots. Reports have suggested that Hyundai will provide the a single-motor setup with similar features as the ICE version in the EV. The EV could get a battery that could provide a capacity of around 55–60 kWh. The EV could have a range of around 500 km on a single charge.

The Creta Electric is also expected to get additional storage space in the form of a frunk in place of the engine.

Once launched, the Hyundai Creta EV will compete against the MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400, BYD Atto 3, as well as the upcoming Tata Curvv EV, and Tata Harrier EV. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Creta EV is expected to arrive in India in 2025 in the price range of between Rs 25–30 lakh (ex-showroom).
