After a few days, the month of May will be over and we will be stepping into June 2022. If you are a car enthusiast or planning to buy a new car, you will be excited as several cars will get launched in India in June 2022. The new launch includes cars from every segment- SUV, compact SUV, sedan or crossover. The price range of the upcoming cars also varies from under 10 lakh to more than 50 lakh.
The entire list of the upcoming cars has been mentioned below in detail.
Kia EV6
Kia’s upcoming electric car ‘Kia EV6’ will be the first electric car of the company in India. The launch date of the car is 2 June, 2022 and it will be brought to India as a completely built unit (CBU) and is limited to only 100 units (for 2022). The bookings have already opened for the car.
The Kia EV6 is offered with a 77.4 kWh battery pack along with a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD). The RWD variant of the Kia EV6 produces 229hp of power and 350Nm of torque. On the other hand, the AWD variant of the Kia EV6 produces 325hp of power and 605Nm of torque.
In terms of charging, the Kia EV6 gets the option for two types of charging- 50kW and 350kW. The 50kW charging can charge the battery from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 73 minutes. On the other hand, there is an option for 350kW fast charging too. In this mode, users can charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 18 minutes, claimed Kia. On a single charge, the Kia EV6 offers a full charge of 528kms.
Volkswagen Virtus
Volkswagen Virtus will be the company’s upcoming sedan and is expected to launch on June 9. The new Volkswagen sedan is based on the MQB AO-IN platform which is the same as that of the Skoda Slavia.
The new Volkswagen Virtus sedan is powered by a powerful 1.0-litre (999cc) TSI engine in 6-speed manual transmission or automatic transmission options. The engine offers 85 kW power @ 5000-5500. The torque that is offered on the car is 178 NM @ 1750-4500. Buyers also get a 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine which is the sporty GT badged performance line. The engine generates a peak power of 110kW @ 5000-6000 while the maximum power is 250 Nm @ 1600-3500. The 1.5-litre engine gets a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
2022 Hyundai Venue
The facelifted Hyundai Venue is scheduled to be launched in June. The design of the 2022 Venue will be somewhat to that of the new generation Tucson that will launch in India this year.
Most likely the Hyundai Venue will have the same engine that is present on the current generation of the SUV. The facelift Venue will have three engine options which are offered in petrol or diesel. The petrol engine is offered in 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol version along with 1.0-litre turbo-petrol version. Users also get a 1.5-litre diesel variant.
Mahindra Scorpio N
The Mahindra Scorpio N will be launched in June 27, confirmed the carmaker. It will likely be sold alongside the current generation of Scorpio. It will rival against Tata Safari, MG Hector and the Hyundai Alcazar. The new Scorpio could be priced between Rs 12 to 19 lakh (ex-showroom). In terms of engine, the SUV will have 2.2-litre diesel and 2-litre turbo-petrol engines that are already used in Thar and XUV700. However, the engines will be tuned differently.
Toyota Hyryder Hybrid SUV
Toyota Kirloskar Motor is planning to introduce a new model in India in June 2022. Toyota’s upcoming compact SUV has been code-named D22. It will reportedly be called as Toyota Hyryder.
As per the company, it has been designed for the specific markets. It will come with the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine borrowed from the global-spec Yaris Cross Hybrid. It will be paired to a battery pack and a 59kWh electric motor. The motor will produce a combined power output of around 114bhp. While the petrol unit will deliver torque around 120Nm, the electric motor will return 141Nm. On Toyota Yaris Cross, the hybrid powertrain delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of over 26kmpl.
2022 Maruti Vitara Brezza
Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce a new-generation of the Vitara Brezza in June 2022. It is expected to come with better interior/exterior design, features and performance. The model will receive improved styling and an updated 1.5L K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces power of 103bhp and 137Nm of torque. There will be a new 6-speed automatic gearbox along with the standard 5-speed manual unit. Reports have also suggested that the carmaker might remove the SHVS mild hybrid system from the powertrain and introduce a CNG version.
Citreon C3
Citreon is expected to launch its latest crossover in June 2022. On the exterior, the Citroen C3 will have a sharp design just like the C5 Aircross. In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measure 3980mm in length and offers a ground clearance of 180mm. The C3 will be based on a CMP modular platform and is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. There will be an option for manual or automatic version. However, no diesel engine variant of the car will be available in the market.
