The 2024 KTM 390 Duke has been launched in India and the motorcycle gets some necessity upgrades over the outgoing model. Not only does the 2024 390 Duke get an upgrade on the exterior, but it also gets an engine upgrade.  As the 2024 KTM 390 Duke generates more power with design upgrades (as compared to the old model), it proves to be a formidable rival for every motorcycle in the sub 400cc segment in India.

We have mentioned the changes on the 2024 KTM 390 Duke that make it more appealing than its predecessor. There is also a price hike for the new Duke but the overall upgrade is worth it.

The engine on the 2024 edition is 399cc while the old edition had a 373cc engine. The new generation makes 26cc more than the old variant. This means that we get more power and torque and that too at a lesser RPM. The 2024 Duke generates 46PS maximum power and 39Nm of peak torque. While the power has a hike by 2.5PS, the torque has a hike by 2Nm. There is also adjustable compression damping for the front as well as the rear. While the front wheel travel is 151mm, the rear wheel gets 161mm. The current model gets 9mm more travel at the front than the outgoing model.

The newer KTM 390 Duke gets 183mm ground clearance which is more by 32mm in the outgoing model. This is a great advantage for the bike as it can take on more harsh conditions (especially pothole-laden roads in urban India). On the other hand, the seat height becomes more accessible at 800mm. It is 23mm lower as compared to the old model. The fuel tank has now increased to 15 litres from 13.5 litres.

Overall the 2024 KTM 390 Duke gets an upgrade in equipment, hardware as well and software. The bike performs better as the engine generates more power and torque and that too at lower rpms. As the bike is 4kg less it adds more to the performance. In case you are someone, who is planning for a long ride, the fuel tank is larger at 15 litres. This means that the range of the motorcycle has been increased. At the ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs 3.10 lakh, the motorcycle is more expensive by Rs 13,000. However, it seems that the price of the new 390 Duke is justifiable as it continues to be a powerhouse in the sub 400cc single-cylinder motorcycle segment.
