Germany: Ex-Afghanistan information minister Syed Ahmad Shah Saadat was recently found delivering pizza on the streets of Germany. The picture has been captured by a local journalist.

Ahmad Shah Saadat joined the Ashraf Ghani-led Afghanistan government as a cabinet minister three years ago in 2018. Saadat served for two years as the Afghanistan information and technology minister and later resigned last year in 2020.

Sadat now lives in Leipzig, where he reached in December last year in 2020 after leaving Afghanistan.

The former Afghan minister has two master’s degrees in communications and electronic engineering from Oxford University. He worked for over 20 years in the field of communications with more than 20 companies, across 13 countries, including Saudi Arabia, for Aramco and the Saudi Telecom Company.

He also served as CEO of Ariana Telecom in London from 2016 until 2017. He worked as a technical advisor to Afghanistan’s communication and information technology ministry from 2005 to 2013.

A German journalist claimed to have spotted Syed Ahmad Shah Saadat on the streets of Germany while riding a bicycle and delivering pizzas for a living and tweeted, A few days ago I met a man who claimed to have been Afghan Communications Minister two years ago. I asked what he was doing in #Leipzig. “I’m driving out of Essen for Lieferando.”
