Pakistan violates ceasefire with heavy shelling at Nowshera

400 bunkers to be built across Poonch, Rajouri for border residents

Srinagar: Pakistan has continued with its ceasefire violation at the Nowshera sector of the Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. There have been unending heavy shelling across the border. India has justifiably replied to Pakistan’s unprovoked attack.

Keeping in mind the safety of the border residents, Jammu and Kashmir administration has ordered about 400 bunkers to built across Poonch and Rajouri sectors.

The administration has directed officials to ensure speedy construction of these bunkers and it said the funds would be placed with the deputy commissioners concerned through the Rural Development Department.

The officials agree that the bunkers have been found to be an effective response to cross-border shelling, providing border residents with a safe place to shelter themselves during shelling incidents.

Meanwhile, an encounter operation has been going on at Handwara of Jammu and Kashmir where five personnel have been martyred and a civilian has been killed.

Border areas; that India shares with Pakistan have kept at a high alert post the escalating tensions between the two neighbouring countries post the Pulwama attack. While Wing Commander Abhinandan has returned to India, peace between India and Pakistan is a long way to go.
