Paris: In a recent incident, the Eiffel Tower was closed on Wednesday after the management staff called a strike, said reliable reports in this regard.

The General Confederation of Labour (CGT) Union informed that strike was called on the 100th death anniversary of engineer Gustave Eiffel. Notably, he was the engineer who built the majestic tower.

The strike was called in by the managing staff over the current way it is managed. Additionally, they said that the tower’s operator SETE was “headed for disaster.”

The CGT alleged the SETE of operating the Eiffel Tower according to an “unsustainable” model. The union even alleged that construction costs were being compromised by the management, despite potential rise in number of visitors.

On Wednesday, the SETE apologized to the visitors. Notably, the Eiffel Tower attracts nearly seven million visitors every years.
