Temperature in Bhubaneswar sees marked decrease, details here

Bhubaneswar: The temperature in Bhubaneswar has seen a marked decline. By 11:30, the temperature in Keonjhar has been recorded at 38.6 degrees on Saturday.

In Jharsuguda and Sambalpur, the temperature has reached 37.4. Due to the increase in sea breeze, there is less wind in Bhubaneswar today as compared to yesterday. By 11:30, the temperature has decreased by 36.2 degrees compared to yesterday.

Similarly, by 8:30 am today, the temperature was above 30 degrees in most parts of the state. Chandbali recorded 31.6 degrees Celsius, Keonjhar 31, Sambalpur 30 and Jharsuguda 30 degrees Celsius.

The heat wave will continue in some parts of the state for the next 24 hours. Warning has been issued for 11 districts due to heatwave. Warning has been issued to Cuttack, Bhadrak, Nayagarh,  Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Boudh, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Balangir. Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Center has issued a warning regarding the continuation of nighttime heat in 8 districts.

Meanwhile, the temperature in the state reached 44 degrees. Such condition is causing health problems. Take precautions at home and outside in such intense heat said the MeT department:

  1. Be careful in severe heat, go out as less as possible, cover up well when going out.
  2. Drink plenty of water, take along with you a water bottle, umbrella and cap or hat.
  3. Wear light cotton clothing or natural fiber.
  4. Do not consume intoxicants such as alcohol
  5. Consult a doctor immediately if you have any health problems
  6. Be careful if you live in a closed house, step out during power outages
