Google Pixel 8 Pro hands-on images leaked: Shows Matte Glass Finish on back
The leaked images show a black version of the Pixel 8 Pro with a matte glass finish on the back and a triple camera setup.
Google is gearing up to launch the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones on October 4 at the ‘Made by Google’ event. Ahead of the official event, the hands-on images of the top-spec variant of the Pixel 8 Pro have leaked online.
The pictures of the dummy units of Pixel 8 Pro were leaked by Vietnamese user (LEAKs Viet Nam) on Facebook. The images show the front and back of the handset and suggest a design language similar to last year’s Pixel 7 Pro. The leaked images show a black version of the Pixel 8 Pro with a matte glass finish on the back and a triple camera setup. On the front, the upcoming handset seems to have a small bezels around the display and a hole-punch cutout in the center that will likely house the selfie camera.
The matte finish will be different from the design of the Pixel 7, which had a glossy glass finish on the rear. Moreover, the handset seems to have a triple camera unit, housed inside the pill-shared cutout inside the horizontally shaped camera island at the back. Accompanying the triple camreas will be the flash and thermometer sensor.
Let us tell you that Google has already officially revealed the design of the Pixel 8 Pro during the confirmation of it’s launch date. The Pixel 8 series will launch on October 4 in New York at 10:00am local time (7:30pm IST). Google will also introduce the Pixel Watch 2 and a new colour for the Pixel Buds Pro at the ‘Made by Google’ event.
Meanwhile, Google has confirmed that the upcoming Pixel 8 series handsets will go on pre-order via Flipkart in India starting October 5.
Speaking about the specifications, the upcoming Pixel smartphones will likely come with Android 14 and run on the new Tensor G3 SoC. The vanilla Pixel 8 is expected to feature a 6.17-inch full-HD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, while the pro model is said to get a 6.71-inch LTPO OLED screen with QHD resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. They are tipped to be available in two RAM —8GB, 12GB— and two storage options — 128GB, 256GB RAM. The Pixel 8 Pro might pack a 4,950mAh battery with 27W wired fast charging support and the Pixel 8 could carry a 4,485mAh battery with 24W wired charging and 12W wireless charging support.
