CERT-In issues high security warning for Apple products

The CERT-In (Indian Computer Emergency Response Team), under the Government of India, has issued a “high” security warning for Apple products.

In recent news, the CERT-In (Indian Computer Emergency Response Team), under the Government of India, has issued a “high” security warning for Apple products.

The warning has been issued for Apple products including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Aapple TV, iOS, iPadOS, and macOS among others. This comes after multiple vulnerabilities were found in the products. Reportedly, these vulnerabilities can give access to attackers to access sensitive information, bypass security restrictions and other issues on the systems.

CERT-In has further mentioned the versions of the products which remain at risk. They are as follows:

  • Apple tvOS versions to 17.3
  • Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K (All Models)
  • Apple watchOS versions prior to 10.3
  • Apple Watch Series 4 and later
  • Apple macOS Monterey versions prior to 12.7.3
  • Apple macOS Ventura versions prior to 13.6.4
  • Apple macOS Sonoma versions prior to 14.3
  • Apple iOS and iPadOS versions prior to 15.8.1
  • iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone SE, iPad Air 2, iPad mini fourth gen, iPod touch seventh gen
  • Apple iOS and iPadOS versions prior to 16.7.5
  • iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPad fifth gen, iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inh first gen
  • Apple iOS, iPadOS versions prior to 17.3
  • iPhone XS andlater, iPad Pro 12.9-inch, second gen and later, iPad Pro 10.5-inch, iPad Pro 11-inch first generation and later, iPad Air third gen and later, iPad sixth gen and later, and iPad mini fifth gen and later
  • Apple Safari versions prior to 17.3
  • macOS Monterey and macOS Ventura

Further, the Government body has also urged Apple users to install the latest versions of the products. Addressing the vulnerability, Apple has already released latest updated versions of numerous Apple products.

Earlier on December 16, 2023, the CERT-In had yet again issued another high risk warning for Apple products and Apple users, regarding multiple vulnerabilities.
