Boudh: In a bizarre kind of incident a youth killed his aunt following a failed rape bid in Ashre village under Kantamal police limits in Boudh district last night.
The accused has been identified as Binod Deep of the same locality.
As per the report, Binod barged into the room of his aunt (father’s daughter) late in the night and tried to outrage her modesty. As the victim successfully foiled the rape attempt the accused tried to kill her by slitting throat with a sharp knife.
The victim was rushed to Sonepur Medical in a critical state by family members after bleeding profusely but succumbed under treatment.
Kantamal Police rushed to the spot and started investigation this morning.
Efforts are underway to trace the accused who is absconding after the murder.
