World Odia Language Conference and Ekamra Utsav 2024 inaugurated by CM Naveen Patnaik

Bhubaneswar: World Odia Language Conference and Ekamra Utsav 2024 has been  inaugurated by CM Naveen Patnaik in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, said reliable reports. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed all the concerned departments to work in coordination with the Department of Language, Literature and Culture for the grand success of the conference.

In this conference, there will be many logical and mystical interpretations of the antiquity and future relevance of the Odia language. Odia linguists living abroad will participate in various stages of discussion about the Antiquity and Continuity of the Odia language.

In the first such conference, abstract discussions will be held on the Odia language’s origin, evolution and popularity. In addition, experts will make data-based presentations on the Odia language’s past, present and future aspects till February 5.

The Ekamra Utsav, a vibrant festival celebrating the rich tapestry of Odia language and culture, will also start from today and will continue till February 9. The Utsav, which is being conducted by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), coincides with the first “World Odia Language Conference” as planned by the State Government.

This gathering holds special significance as it marks the inaugural World Odia Language Conference, highlighting the state’s dedication to preserving and showcasing its linguistic heritage.

Comprising three distinct components, the Ekamra Utsav promises a diverse array of experiences. The main event, Sangitara Murchana, will take place at the IDCO Exhibition ground, featuring captivating performances by acclaimed artists from across the nation and region. This cultural extravaganza will enchant attendees with live music, band performances, and various other forms of performing arts. All the performances will be based on Odia language and culture.

• 5th February – Abhula Atita: Ananaya Sritam Nanda
• 6th February – Bhasa Hi Bhabisyata: Padma Shri Aruna Mohanty, Kuna Tripathy
• 7th February – Basantara Swara: Ruturaj Mohapatra & Sona Mohapatra
• 8th February – Murchana Ra Bhinna Eka Sandhya: Sonu Nigam
• 9th February – Tume Chanhila Boli: Jubin Nautial

Along with this there will be a food special exhibition which will showcase the wide range of Odiah cuisine it will be called, “Ama Byanjan.”

In addition to this, the Ekamra Haat (Night Flea Market of Ekamra Utsav) is scheduled from 3rd to 9th February 2024 and will take place at the Ekamra Expo Area in Bhubaneswar from 4pm to 11pm daily. Reports say that a drone show will also be organized to mark both the World Odia Language Conference and Ekamra Utsav.
