Nayagarh: Unearthing the unlawful activities of yet another fake Godman in the state, forest officials raided the ‘ashram’ of ‘Baba Krushna Das’ located near Dankari Sahi under Gania police limits here last night and arrested him.
During the raid which was conducted by Gania Forest Division officials in the morning, the fake Godman was found possessing arms and ammunition without a valid license along with several other items and which were seized.
Those items which were seized from the ashram are, 1 country made pistol, 2 billhooks, 2 headlights and over 100 grams of ammunition used in making explosives.
The illegal activity of Baba Krushna Das came to fore after one of his disciples namely Benudhar Samal was caught by the forest officials in Bankamunda Reserve Forest earlier yesterday and around 5 kg of venison seized from his possession. During his interrogation, Benudhahr disclosed about the baba’s involvement in poaching for meat, on which the officials acted immediately.
Both the accused have been sent to jail following their arrest and the investigation is underway, informed forest officials.
