Sambalpur: Criminal sustains bullet injury during Police encounter
Police went to nab the accused and his accomplice as they were trying to flee from the scene after committing robbery. Jyakab Raj got injured in the police firing.
Sambalpur: A criminal reportedly sustained bullet injury during a police encounter on Saturday. Police opened fire in defence as the criminals fired on them to flee from the scene after committing dacoity.
As per reports, the accused named Jackab Raj got injured in the encounter. He has been admitted to the hospital in Burla.
Police went to nab the accused and his accomplice as they were trying to flee from the scene after committing robbery. Jyakab Raj got injured in the police firing. So, a total of 12 people have been arrested in this incident. Sambalpur SP said.
In this incident, police seized 2 pistols, 4 knives and Rs 3.20 lakh from the accused.
According to the information, the accused was trying to flee from the scene after committing dacoity a house of Aftab Alam.
When the police went to arrest them, the accused fired one round. Then the police fired back. Accused youth Raj got injured and shifted to Burla.
Police seized 3 bullets from the accused. His house is in Laxmipur of Koraput while there about 10 t2 cases are pending in diferent Police station, said Sambalpur SP.
