Puri: The Jagannath Temple Managing Committee today proposed fine developmental projects to the state government.
The projects included demarcation of chariot path (Ratha Danda) as a heritage corridor, a park at Jagannath Ballav, peripheral development of the Jagannath temple and development of Gundicha temple.
Besides, the managing committee also proposed to set up a Mutt Development Committee to facilitate coordination between the mutts in the pilgrim town and the temple administration.
“An Adarsh Gurukul will be set up for training and grooming servitors. A patch of land measuring around 12 acres will soon be identified for this purpose and a sub-committee will look into this. Besides, a system will be set up for granting scholarships to the children of servitors,” said Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, Krishan Kumar.
