Orange warning for heavy rain issued for 10 districts of Odisha today

The regional Meteorological Centre has issued an orange warning for heavy rain along with thunderstorms and lighting in 10 districts of Odisha today.

Bhubaneswar: The regional Meteorological Centre has issued an orange warning for heavy rain along with thunderstorms and lighting in 10 districts of Odisha today. These districts are Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur.

Some places of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda and Sundergarh districts will receive heavy rain today. These place might receive from 7 to 11 cm. MeT has also predicted that some of these places will also likely receive hailstorms too.

Some places of the state has received widespread rain with thunder and lightning under the effects of Kalbaisakhi. The effects of kalbaishakhi will continue to be seen for the next four days. The amount of rain might increase today. There will be thundershower and rain in most parts of coastal, interior and western Odisha today.

For this, the Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow warning for 13 districts for lightning and rain. The districts which have received orange warning will experience gusty wind with a speed of  40-50 km per hour and the districts with yellow warnings will be hit by wind at 30-40 km per hour speed.

A low-pressure line extending from south Chhattisgarh to Arabian Sea and a high pressure line is active over Odisha and coastal areas. As a result, sufficient amount of water vapor is entering the state. There will be no significant change in temperature for the next 4 days.
