‘One Nation-One Ration Card’ Scheme Rolls Out In Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Central Government’s ‘One nation-one ration card’ scheme was today implemented in the areas under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on a pilot basis.

Officials in the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare department said that the scheme will be rolled out in other parts of the state in a phase-wise manner. The ‘One nation-one ration card’ scheme enables Food Security Act cardholders to collect their ration from any PDS shop across the state.

BMC officials said that the scheme will be implemented through 118 fair price shops in 67 wards of the BMC.  “Beneficiaries need to link their ration cards with Aadhaar cards to avail the facility. The fair price shops will remain open from 8 am to 12noon and 4 pm to 8 pm,” said a BMC official.
