Odisha to experience heavy rainfall next week due to low pressure formation over Bay of Bengal

According to the Regional meteorological department, a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is likely to develop by November 15.

Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over the South Eastern Bay of Bengal by November 14. According to predictions by the Regional meteorological department, it is likely to take the form of a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal by November 15.

Predictions also suggest that the circulation will initially advance in the South-eastern direction. However, later it may change its direction and head in the North-Eastern direction by November 16.

As a result of which, moderate rainfall is expected in the Southern parts of Odisha from November 15. Forecasts also predict the possibility of heavy rainfall in coastal and Northern Odisha on November 16.

The state is currently witnessing a drop in temperatures with the onset of winter season. Weather conditions across the state are likely to remain dry till November 14.

Meanwhile, international meteorologist Jason Nicholls suggests the possibility of development of a tropical cyclone in the coming week. As per his predictions, the impact of this potential cyclone will extend to Bangladesh from Northern India.
