Balasore : Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids at the residence and other places belonging to an Assistant Executive Engineer of Rural Development Department, Government of Odisha, on charges of acquiring assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The accused official, identified as Ajay Behera, has been posted at Soro in Balasore district.
The anti-corruption officials conducted simultaneous searches at seven different places including Behera’s office room in Soro, his parental residence at Sungudia in Baripada of Mayurbhanj district, relative’s house in Cuttack, Bhadrak and Keonjhar and other places.
The Excise officials verified his bank accounts, land records and several other valuable documents during the raids, officials said.
The total estimation of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income is yet to be unearthed as raids are underway, officials added.
