Odisha: President Droupadi Murmu to visit Keonjhar today

Bhubaneswar: Today is the second day of President Droupadi Murmu’s 4-day visit to Odisha. She arrived in her home state for the visit on Wednesday. After spending the night at her residence, President Droupadi Murmu will be visiting Keonjhar today. At 9:40 AM she is scheduled to arrive at the Dandbose helipad in Mayurbhanj, from where she will leave for Keonjhar.

The president will meet a tribal community residing in the Gonasika Kadalibadi village in Keonjhar. After which, she will be offering prayers at the Gupta Ganga temple and the Brahmaswara temple. At 3:00 PM, President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate a seminar in Keonjhar and address the students of Dharanidhar University.

Later in the evening, she will be inaugurating 53rd Convocation of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar and will spend the night at Raj Bhawan. A total of 50 platoon forces will be deployed in the twin city for President Murmu’s visit.

Further, on Friday, President Murmu will be attending the 25th Convocation of Berhampur University in Ganjam district. In the evening she will attend the Golden Jubilee programme organised by the Brahmakumari Ishwariya University. Preparations for the same have reached its final stage. Ganjam District Collector, officials of various departments and Air Force officials have reached the Rangeilunda airstrip to supervise the arrangements.

Upon her arrival at the Rangeilunda airport, the President will first visit the Biju Patnaik theatre situated within the university premises. During the 25th convocation ceremony of the university, 43 students will be awarded Ph.D degrees while 35 toppers from different departments will be awarded Gold Medals. President Droupadi Murmu will be attending the convocation for around 40 minutes. After Brahmapur, the President will attend the Golden jubilee ceremony of Brahmakumari in Cuttack.

On March 2, President Murmu is scheudled to visit Sambalpur district and visit various places related to Santhakabi Bhimabhoi.
