Odisha Govt Starts Free Distribution Of Laptops To Meritorious Students For 2019-20

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today started distribution of free laptops to Plus II pass out meritorious students for the year 2019-20 under Biju Sashaktikaran Yojana. The state government will distribute 15000 laptops for the year 2019-20.

The programme was  started today by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in Lok Seva Bhavan and as many as 10 students of BJB Autonomous College received free laptops from the Chief Minister.

Officials said that the programme was launched in 2013 and the state government so far has distributed 90203 free laptops to meritorious students.

“Instead of choosing top 15,000 students at state level in different streams and categories, top students from each district in different streams have been selected by the selection committee constituted by the state government. This will ensure better representation of meritorious students of all the districts,” said an official.
