Jajpur: A teacher of Balia primary school under Lembo panchayat in Sukinda block of Odisha’s Jajpur district was on Thursday dismissed from service for his indiscipline behaviour.
The teacher, identified as Makarand Mahant, was seen in an inebriated condition and forcing students to kneel down outside the school premises on Wednesday.
Following the incident, a video of his punishing the students went viral in social media.
The video shows that the teacher was so drunk that he could not even park his two-wheeler outside the school and through it on the road.
The teacher was sacked immediately after the block education officer submitted a report before the District Collector over his conduct in the school premises.
Locals claimed that Mahant often came to the school drunk.
