Minor Odia Girl Tortured In Haryana; Jharsuguda Police Arrests 2

Jharsuguda: In connection with the alleged torture of a minor Odia girl at Bhiwani in Haryana, Jharsuguda Police on Saturday arrested two person from Brajrajnagar. The arrested persons have been identified as uncle of the minor girl, Tankadhar and her neighbour, Ajay Ganjari.

As per reports, the girl who hails from Brajarajnagar area of Jharsuguda district was allegedly sold by Tankadhar for Rs 2 lakh to one Sandeep of Bhiwani six months back. Sandeep had forcibly married the minor and kept her in confinement since then. During this period, she was repeatedly raped, which left her in a deep state of trauma.

In order to escape the confinement, the girl jumped off from the first floor of the building and sustained injuries. She was spotted by some locals in the area in a critical condition who took her to a Hospital in Hisar. Based on the minor girl’s statement, Haryana police arrested Sandeep and his mother Shakuntala in connection with the matter.

Meanwhile, two teams including the minor’s family members and the officials of district child protection unit left for to Haryana on Friday night to the bring back the victim.
