Man kills paralysed wife by drowning her in pond in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district

Dhenkanal: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his wife by drowning her in the village pond on Wednesday. The incident took place in Ramachandrapur village in Kalada Panchayat under Parajanga Police limits in Dhenkanal district of Odisha. The accused is at large.

As per reports, Dillip Behera killed his 40 years old wife Laxmi Behera by drowning her in the village pond. A case was lodged in this regard in Parajanga Police station.

Reportedly, Laxmi had been attacked by paralysis for the last few months. Today, Dillip took her to the pond for bathing. He reportedly gave his son Rs. 100 and asked him to eat something from the market. It has been complained that he drowned his wife to death in the pond.

After getting information, Parajanga Police and Fire services officers reached the spot and fished out the body from the water. As per circumstantial evidence, the case seems to be a pre-planned murder, says report.

The accused has reportedly fled from the scene following the crime. The SDPO also reached the spot and enquired the case. Further investigation of the case is underway.
