Rourkela: Brahmani Tarang police last night seized a huge cache of explosives from an SUV and arrested four persons in this connection.
Police said that the explosive substances included 4800 electronic detonators, 2700 super gel 90 explosives and 17 packets of Ammonium Nitrate.
The accused have been identified as Madhav Patra and Anil Thakur of Kalunga, Suraj Sahoo of Panposh and Prabin Tappo of Chikatmati.
“One Alok Samal of Kalunga, who deals with explosive business, was transporting the consignments to different stone mafias for blasting in different stone quarries. We have registered a case and are trying to nab Samal,” said a police official.
