Cuttack: Turning a wedding ceremony sour, family members of a bride have detained the groom’s party for hours in Debario village under Mahanga police limits here last night.
As per the report, the groom identified as a resident of Sathiabati village under Mahakalpada block of Kendrapara district was en-route to his marriage venue in Debario village when the incident took place.
It is said that, a verbal duel erupted between some relatives of the bride and the groom’s party during the procession due to the unruly behaviour of the latter. Irate over the development the bride’s family stopped the wedding and detained the groom along with his relatives till 7 AM this morning.
Police had not arrived at the spot till this report was being filed.
