Athagarh: In a broad daylight robbery unidentified miscreants snatched away cash worth Rs 18 lakh near Radhakishorepur overbridge under Khuntuni police limit in Athagarh of Cuttack on Tuesday.
As per the report, the victim identified as Santosh Kumar Raj, an employee of Vimal Pan Masala company.
Bimal, who worked as a Marketing Manager with the tobacco company had been to collect money from wholesalers and dealers in Talcher and Dhenkanal areas was returning on his bike to the office when the loot took place.
As per the victim, at least four miscreants came on two black Bajaj Pulsar bikes and waylaid him on National Highway-55 in the noon and snatched away the cash bag.
Khuntuni Police swung into action and rushed to the spot after the victim called it up post the mishap.
Efforts are underway to trace the absconding miscreants.
