3 Dead In Separate Road Accidents In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Three persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Odisha on Wednesday.

Two persons were killed when a bus collided with a bike on the Nayagarh-Daspalla road on late Tuesday night. While one of the bikers died on the spot, the other one sustained critical injuries and was taken to the Daspalla community health centre, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased have been identified as Biswajeet Pradhan of Harabhanga in Boudh and Krishna Nayak of Jayapatana from Kalahandi. As per reports, the duo were in an inebriated state when the accident occurred.

Similarly, a truck driver was killed when two trucks collided on NH-26 near Sudapada in Balangir district on the wee hours of Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Sartaj Singh. He was driving a coal-laden truck from Punjab and was en route to Jharsuguda.

As per reports, Singh had parked his truck on the roadside at 3 am and alighted down to change the tyre of his vehicle. However, two trucks collided near the spot and he was killed after being run over by one of the trucks.
