2 students meet watery grave in Mahanadi, girl went missing after jumping into Baitarani river

Paradip/ Chandbali: Two students died due to drowning while taking bath in Mahanadi river in Paradip on Thursday.

The deceased students have been identified as Rajib Lochan Sahu (19) and Ganeswar Sahu (18) a native of Pathuria village in Kujanga area

Report says, both Rajib and Ganeswar were taking bath in the Mahanadi water when they got drowned. Some local residents rescued the duo and rushed them to Kujangsa hospital, but the doctors declared them dead.

In a separate incident, a plus two girl student went missing after jumping into the Baitarani river from bridge in the afternoon hours.

Report says, the girl was enroute to her house from Chandbali, she parked her bicycle and kept her belongings on Baitarani bridge and suddenly jumped into the river.

On being informed, two teams of fire services department reached the spot and launched a search operation.

The missing girl has been identified as a resident of Burudia village in Rajkanika.
