New Delhi: The upcoming 13th edition of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is gearing up to be the most lucrative ever, with a total prize pot of US$10 million awaiting the participating teams. The championship, featuring 10 teams, is set to culminate with the winning team seizing a grand prize of US$4 million, alongside the prestigious trophy, to be lifted at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 19th November.
In this exhilarating cricket spectacle, the runners-up will not be far behind, securing a substantial sum of US$2 million. Additionally, the losing semi-finalists will each be awarded $800,000 from the significant prize pool.
The 48-match tournament, spanning across 10 venues, is scheduled to kick off on 5th October. It promises a riveting display of cricketing prowess as teams compete against one another in a round-robin format, ultimately striving to make it to the top four and progress to the semi-finals.
Interestingly, the prize money structure extends to each league match won, adding to the excitement. Teams will engage in a round-robin format, facing off against every other team once, with the top four advancing to the highly anticipated semi-finals.
